Selected astringents should be applied on areas of your face that are extremely oily and if you're not entirely sure how to use astringents, consult a dermatologist.
Avoid Touching Your Blemishes. "Once the popping starts it never stops", most people are tempted to squeeze or pop their pimples as it seems to be an immediate cure for their pimple problem. Just because it looks as though you solved the problem, that doesn't mean you did. Popping a pimple could worsen the case by inducing bacterial infection, or in worse cases, result in permanent scars. Besides, most of the time your hands are dirty, oily and germ ridden, which will worsen your acne condition. Therefore, the best thing to do is to not touch your face altogether.
Choosing the right Makeup. It is highly advisable that you not wear makeup during the recovery process of an acne problem. However, make-up has become a part of a woman's everyday life and most working women will take any and all measures to look beautiful, rather than looking "ugly" for a short time. If you going to wear make-up, be sure to choose a make-up that is noncomedogenic and is not oily, as that will only make matters worse.
Shave with Care. Shaving is a necessity for most men; it makes them look neat and clean, but what can a man do when he has an acne outbreak. That's simple; choose safety razors over electric shavers as safety razors offer more control and maneuverability. Use shaving creams for sensitive skin and just try to skip a few days of shaving if you have a bad breakout. It would be better to skip shaving than to aggravate your acne situation.
Sunlight. Some people tend to think that being darker with a suntan will make their pimples be camouflaged and less noticeable. Although you may not be able see the pimples, the sun will only make things worse. Having contact with direct sunlight for long periods of time will dry up your skin, as well as make you more vulnerable to skin cancer. So as a safety precaution; choose a sun block or moisturizer that contains SPF 30 if your daily chores and/or work requires you to be under the hot blazing sun. That way, you will be preventing further damage to your skin and winning the fight against acne.
